The NYPD Found Out the Hard Way How Not to Make a Twitter Hashtag

New York's police department had a perfectly fine idea: Connect with the citizens using the hashtag #myNYPD to let the beautiful people of New York share their experience with police officers. Well, it would have been perfectly fine if they had predicted the internet doing what the internet does and hijacking the hashtag to talk about questionable police practices.
